Something New: Emilia Ceramics

Today's first {Something New} feature perfectly illustrates the sort of registry options I'd like to highlight here on Kirei Nest.

In addition to the tried-and-true registries of large retailers, there are many smaller and more independent storefronts offering registries with all the ease of online shopping, often combined with more unique product lines and personal service.

Emila Ceramics is a beautiful San Francisco-based company. I often say that a company's offerings are beautiful, but in this case I have to include the company itself in my admiration. Owner Emily Brown fell in love with Southern Spain, where nobody was "too busy to make a new friend, catch up with an old one," or just enjoy the slow and simple pleasures of life.

During her travels, Emily marveled at local artists' work and began to befriend them. She now imports their hand-painted ceramics from Italy, Spain, Mexico and Portugal.

You can easily create a complete dinnerware registry, or just select serving pieces and kitchen accessories. I especially like this {Spoon Rest} and the little Chicken {Salt & Pepper Shakers} to perk up the space next to your stovetop.

While I appreciate the sleek lines and spare appeal of modern homes as much as anyone, there's nothing quite like a warm, vibrant kitchen. Tomato sauce bubbling, a big wooden spoon being passed back and forth for taste tests, plucking a little more fresh basil from a charming {Planter} on the counter...what a pretty scene to bring to life with Emilia Ceramics!
